Choke

I have never used the choke, when I have it's actually harder to start! My procedure for starting is to crank the engine and no throttle, it may kick on a couple of cylinders but not catch on all 4, I then try again, this usually happens a few times but then it catches on all 4 cylinders, as soon as...

RC drive

I have also found the HRC ecus to be much nicer in on/off throttle application, I have had one std ecu (ED spec) and 3 different HRC(003, 721, 8000) the HRC ecu's calibrations feel much smoother, not that I found anything wrong with the standard one.

RC drive

As Larry said they do not have cush drives, the RC30 is the same BUT they do have springs on the clutch basket gear which basically does the same thing as the cush drive. I have a Moriwaki dry clutch on my 30 and it has no springs on the gear, it is VERY on/off with throttle application!

first ride

Does it have a full power ED spec ecu fitted? I found that a near stock full power bike pulled very nicely above 8000rpm, very flat torque curve so just piled the speed on. All the stock RC45 dyno runs I have seen are usually 106-108bhp at wheel. I've dynoed a few stock RC30's(Aus spec so full power...

I have +20mm swinging arm, so can't compare Larry's FAC -1/+2 that I run with a standard arm with that gearing.

gearing

I went 1 down on the front and 2 up on the rear, it's still a bit tall in first gear but way better, didn't worry about speedo.

Rumi

I've been told is replica, not ex-Rumi race bike. There is also RC45 which is replica not ex-Rumi race bike. They have used ex race parts from Rumi bikes but were not raced. This I've been told from person who restored the Rumi race bikes.

exhaust

I think the HRC or Yoshimura systems only hit the swing arm if you use the standard rear set up(linkage/ride height), I have used a standard rear arm with the Ohlins superbike shock/linkage and HRC exhaust and it cleared the swing arm by quite a lot, but I was also running ALOT of rear ride height. ...
