Mag article

As this was a 'buyers guide' I wasn't expecting it to be too technical, hopefully they will do a tech article in the future. I have been waiting for the Japanese book/magazine 'Racers' to do an RC45 special, they have done RC30 before and it's only a matter of time before our beloved RC45 gets done.

HRC Ohlins

There is NO HRC Ohlins shock, there is NO HRC Ohlins shock linkage, they were done by Ohlins independent of HRC, the last picture posted by Larry is my bike with my old setup before I went to HRC Showa shock, linkage and dog bones. What Larry calls HRC Ohlins, is Ohlins superbike, eyelet both end, t...

linkage

Is the linkage HRC or Ohlins? Post pic if possible. HRC linkage won't work with Ohlins superbike shock.

Ohlins and PGM-FI

ok, the Ohlins linkage is nothing like the standard linkage, try get the Shock, linkage, dog bones and ride height adjuster, this set up transforms an RC45. The standard PGM-FI will not plug into standard wiring loom and is useless anyway unless HRC ecu is used, now if HRC ecu is used, you can make ...

headlights

Ok, sorry, these were taken out of my bike when they were new and changed to Australian design rules, Aussie bikes were then fitted with Fireblade lights;
001-5376R and 001-5376L if that helps at all, both headlights are on when low beam is turned on and when high beam is turned on.

upgrades

This is what I would do to a stock RC45;
1. CBR600 17 inch front wheel
2. Ohlins superbike shock/linkage and HRC ride height adjuster
3. Some form of slip on muffler, purely for aural titalation
4. Modern tyres

You will be suprised how an RC45 is transformed with these mods.

That is legit VIN but this is not an Australian delivered bike(1 of 12) as they are re stamped with 17 digit vin.

Frame number

If your bike is a genuine Australian delivered RC45 the frame number on the headstock will look like it has been ground off and re stamped, this is normal for Australian bikes, if you are worried about it, write to Honda Australia and they will confirm this. Also on a side not back in the day Austra...
