RC45 rear shock and PGM FI controller....

Post by #51 RC45 »

I have received an offer on Öhlins rear shock absorber and HRC linkage, but do I need the linkage to mount the shock absorber in OEM swing arm?
What is the difference between the OEM and HRC linkage?

Can I use HRC PGM FI controller on OEM cable harness or do I need HRC cable harness?

Ohlins and PGM-FI

Post by 170bhp »

ok, the Ohlins linkage is nothing like the standard linkage, try get the Shock, linkage, dog bones and ride height adjuster, this set up transforms an RC45. The standard PGM-FI will not plug into standard wiring loom and is useless anyway unless HRC ecu is used, now if HRC ecu is used, you can make a patch loom that goes from the standard IMA's to the PGM-FI controller and you can now adjust fuel through rev range.

linkage

Is the linkage HRC or Ohlins? Post pic if possible. HRC linkage won't work with Ohlins superbike shock.

HRC Ohlins

Post by 170bhp »

There is NO HRC Ohlins shock, there is NO HRC Ohlins shock linkage, they were done by Ohlins independent of HRC, the last picture posted by Larry is my bike with my old setup before I went to HRC Showa shock, linkage and dog bones. What Larry calls HRC Ohlins, is Ohlins superbike, eyelet both end, this set up can be used on standard swinging arm.

P.S. The Ohlins superbike shock, linkage, dog bones etc work bloody awesome on an RC45, I used this set up with an 8.6kg/mm spring, worked beautifully.
