RC45 Tony scott kit engine for sale

Post by britten43 »

Here is a fantastic opportunity to own a rare piece of racing history, this is the spare engine that was used most recently in the isle of man TT in the late 90's with experimental long stroke crankshafts. The engine was included in the sale of Joey Dunlops HRC RC45 factory race bike
This is a HRC KIT race engine built by Tony Scott, it has been refreshed with a lot of new parts and not even used once since

This being a kit engine, has a fantastic array of HRC parts that don't come up for sale very often, let alone in one engine ready to race! Here's the spec
- Factory titanium NGK surface discharge plugs (unobtainable these days)
- New KIT cams with lightened sprockets
- New KIT valve springs inlet and exhaust complete with KIT spring seats
- KIT race alternator (NL5A)
- KIT sump baffle plate
- Standard titanium conrods
- Standard machined pistons
- Lightened slipper clutch
- Gas flowed heads by Tony scott
- Gas flowed crank cases by Tony Scott
- Lightened drive gears
- Starter motor assembly removed/ plugged
- Standard 5 speed box
- A very trick extra right hand gear change shaft

Every component was inspected by Tony Scott and new parts were ordered:
- Piston rings
- Conrod shells
- gaskets
- stretch bolts
- valve springs
- camshafts
- valve spring seats
- oil filter

The engine has not been used since it was rebuilt so no work needed whatsoever, this could be put into use on a race track or with the addition of the starter assembly would make a fantastic road bike.
Unfortunately the magnesium clutch cover was too damaged for repair so it has been replaced with a standard road based rc45 casing
I have tried to include as many photos as possible, if you require any other i can forward these by email
I can ship the engine internationally at your cost, it can be crated and wrapped safely
