Some photos below of the rear Axle conversion organised by Mark Smith.
Original inner axle is pressed out and the inside of the axle has a thread cut. Threaded insert is screwed into the axle and thread locked in place. A grub screw also prevents insert from moving. Axle is then electroplated.
The wheel nut is 56 mm and has a left handed thread. It uses a shim between the cone and nut to help tightening.
A very high quality piece of engineering. Have tested for about 100 miles some bumpy twisty roads with no issues and no changes to torque setting. Nut lockwired until I get the right R clip.
