Just postulating - is there such a thing as the mythical, cheap RC45?
I would dearly love one for occasional "work" use, but would hate to subject a clean road bike to the abuse, and watch it haemorrhage money.
Do sensible ex-race bikes ever appear, or have they all been "kitted" to a price that matches their road bike counterparts?
