spare pipes---- help !!!!!

Post by fogrider »

The "choke" cable seized up on my RC45 over winter. So, airbox off, sort it , put it all back. Unfortunatly, there is a T shaped pipe left over on the right rear of the air box. I can't find anywhere it could go and don't remember taking it off anything. It's a single small bore pipe from under the airbox, a small brown one way valve, one short pipe off the brown valve and a longer small bore pipe off at right angles. Old age brain-fade has struck again, help !
Regards, Terry.

pipes find a home !

Post by fogrider »

Brilliant !, that diagram shows the pipes perfectly. Strange though, that the natural "lay" of the longer pipe (item 14) is to the rear, I wonder if it had been left off by a previous ?. I don't remember pulling it off that frontal vacuum chamber either. It looks like airbox off again to get to the vacuum chamber, oh well, at least she will be back together properly
Excellent help, many thanks Larry.

spare pipes

Post by fogrider »

Well, back together. The two pipes, items 14 and 17 had been put on the one way valve in the wrong orientation. Meaning the pipes did not reach anything. They had been left off quite a while. I had to wring the one way valve round 180 deg to make the pipes line up as per Larry's' drawing.
I hoped it would cure the PGM system minor fault, but no, just the same. No fault codes show up, just a stutter and brief red light until she's warmed through then it clears.
Never mind , it goes like hell, it'll do !
Regards, Terry.

PGM flicker

That's an interesting comment Stephen, I will have a look at the wires and connectors. Just re-done the bridge wire test , ignition on, 2 secs of red light and off. Bridge the test plug, ignition on, red light stays on. I THINK that is normal, hope to ride it next week or so after MoT and Tax.
Regards all, Terry.
