Big dent on stock downpipes under s/arm - is this standard?

Big dent on stock downpipes under s/arm - is this standard?

After having my RC30 5 years, I just noticed a big dent/crush on the rearmost downpipe where it goes under the swing arm.

Looks like it's there for chain clearance.

Someone has told me they are all like this but it looks a bit caveman to me.

Does anyone out there know? - is this stock?????

is for retaining exhaust back pressure
