Pgm F1 light on - I've got 7 blinks

Post by hollo »

Hello , as per the title, coming home after a ride yesterday , my Pgm F1 light came on . This afternoon I've been trying to work out the problem . With the seat and bodywork off using the 'diagnostic port ' the Pgm light is showing 7 blinks - so far so good .
I've them followed the steps in the manual and have got 4.99v on the pink wire , so the feed is OK, whoever I cannot get any reading from the other two wires , Light green/black and Green/Orange . The manual now suggests that the problem is that I have an open or short circuit on the Green/Orange wire .
I also swapped over the actual Pa sensor for one by the airbox , as a double check and still got the 7 blinks.
My issue is that I'm now stuck and do not know how to proceed . I know that I've got an issue with a wire to the sensor , but am unsure how to 'fix' this . The better news is that according to the manual if the air pressure sensor is not giving a reading the bike will still run OK but default to 'standard' setting , but my idle rough at a higher altitude . As I'm in south east England , I'll be OK on the high altitude/mountain front , but would still like to fix this new issue.
Thanks
Mike
