Paddock stand details

Post by fogrider »

Finally got the documents and paddock stand from Craigs, Shipley. ( what a job). tax it and ride it next week !
Reading the yellow sticker on the stand, it says secure it in place with the screw. I take it there should be a bolt or screw that slips in from the R/H side and screws onto the end of the stand spindle. Mine has just a plain 10mm spigot sticking out from the larger spindle boss.
Q: is this standard?, or should there be some sort of thread showing ?
regards all, Terry.

That's spot on, I couldn't figure out why it had that plastic nut, it all makes sense now, thanks !
On the road next week, will report.

Careful with that stand Terry. In practice it's not the best system. My RC45 often tries to walk off the stand as it's lifted, and a new nylon bush doesn't make any difference. IMO, aftermarket stands that secure the bike from the wheel side through the axle are more secure.

Thanks for all the above fella's, the inner section had seized to the outer which is why that big plastic nut didn't seem to do anything. Sorted now. from what has been said as well, I think I will strip it again and put a thread on the end of the inner spigot, then I can fit a female threaded security bolt in from the R/H side.
Have'nt ridden it yet, rain stopped play !
Tomorrow , hopefully.......
Regards, Terry.
