A local company will do me an MPH overlay, for the speedo face (not the outer glass). I'm a bit dubious about taking the instrument panel to bits, can't find anything on the forum, anyone had the speedo out ? Tricky or straightforward ?
Regards all, Terry.
Hi Larry, from your diagram, it certainly doesn't look too involved. I agree about the fragile speedo needle, I was more worried about getting it back on its' post though, so it was still calibrated right. Whilst pondering over your speedo photo, I realized the obvious; an MPH overlay would be ideal (no need to change reluctors etc) BUT it would still record in kph.
I think I will leave well alone and stick some white markers on top of the glass at relevant speeds, big speeds are a Federal rap here too !
In my county, East Yorkshire, there have been 3 biker deaths already this year so there will be unmarked Police bikes and cars out soon for sure, they even resorted to hidden speed cameras last year.
Thanks for the info'

I had the same problem and in the end decided to mount a small digital push bike speedo just below the clocks. This works well, but not a night
That's a great idea. I once fitted one to an old Brit bike I have to check the chronometric was reading right.
Where the hell did I put it !
