Brake upgrade options

Post by DocJohn »

So, the 45 is up and running and getting some hard use...

This has flagged up the fact that the standard brakes are, frankly, terrible.

I rebuilt them completely with new seals, genuine pads, fluid and new stainless lines. I also rebuilt the master cylinder; so the whole system is "as new"

They're pretty bad compared to modern stuff, which is a Shame as the rest of the bike feels new

So - upgrade options.

I'd quite like to keep the period forks; so does anything more modern fit?

Failing that, it looks like it's going to have to be a whole front end change for modern radials

Thanks!

calipers

Conventional mount late model Fireblade(before radial mount) + master cylinder works really good, also use SP1/2 calipers.

Brake Upgrade kit

Hi Jon,

I got a complete brembo kit with 320 mm discs, calipers adapters and master cylinder that fits the standard forks and works so much better than the original setup.

This is where I got it so worth checking if it's still available. If you need further information please let me know.
