I want to buy RC 45

Well how's things I'm new to this site
And am looking at buying an rc45 to have as collectors item as investment

1 what is the best yr to buy 94/95
2 what do I need to look at when I'm buying rc45
3 how many was made cause when I googled it it says only 200 made on Wikipedia
4 where is the best country to buy one from because there is 2 for sale in australia
5 any help would be appreciated as it is only for investment and to have in the sitting room as museum quality the bike il buy will not be ridden
6 does all rc45 have HRC parts on them or are they extra

14 RC45's were officially imported into Australia, 4 owned by Honda were sent to the race team where 3 were turned into race bikes winning the Aust super bikes in 94 and 95 back to back. The fourth bike was used as a press release/display bike(this is currently owned by myself).

The ones for sale at the moment in Aust are Japanese imports, they are restricted to 77bhp where as the 14 official imports were full power 120bhp. You can derestrict by, changing the ecu, muffler and removing the restrictor plate under the throttle bodies.

Australian delivered bikes were fitted with an ADR(Australian design rule) kit, which was basically CBR900 headlights, the headlight switch was replaced with a switch that has the headlights on at all times and a few bits and pieces.

Of the 14 imported the chassis numbers are random, mine I think is the lowest at vin 00055. All offically delivered Australia bikes are late 93 build, pre order bikes so the chassis numbers start with 0, not a 1 or a 2.

They do not come with HRC parts, they are extra, often hard to come by and very expensive.

Hi All, I don't often post a reply as very happy to read and learn about these
brilliant machines. I have now owned my 45 for nearly ten years and I still look at her as a piece of art.
I noticed Larry said all the models stayed the same and I started to wonder did they have different spec from country to country. I have heard some are low power but on my 97 RS I was lead to believe they did make some changes, ie changing the engine position slightly and very small details.
I just wondered how this affected the rules in racing and as we know they even changed the swing arm at the end.
I have also just read the big brother article and are very grateful that this forum exists but wish I could see more in the 45 racing section.
I just wondered why the need for a separate section.
Anyway don't want to offend anybody but would like to know an answer to my two questions. Gary w.

I had a Japanese import RC45 in the shop with a Japan ECU (38770 MW4 300) plus the stock muffler and it produced 108.4 RWHP by utilizing HRC 3 wire trick... there was no restrictor plate under the throttle bodies and in my Japanese parts books there is no mention of it or even a part number... Jamie I need to know more of what you know...
