Is it possible to remove the cylinder inserts from the upper crank-case half - and then to replace (re-line) them? Or is, during manufacture, the upper crank-case half cast around the liner's?
The reason for my question is to determine if crank-cases are (in effect) scrap once the liners are 'shot'.
Ok Stephen, thanks for that... recovering the bores sounds like a huge task and no doubt very expensive, but hey there's always a bright side, I now have a most unusual 'hanging basket'.
