Tell you what though, can you stick the 840cc one on the dyno again? I swapped out the heads and cams before I came out here.... Never did find out what it did for the engine....
With the big bore kit and everything else stock it was 123 at the rear. The std one was chucking out 102 on the same dyne...
Trying to work out how to fit a supercharger to one now
G'day cobbers, sat here in Peth WA and am close to buying a JDM 30 from Japan, just waiting for my account with xe.com to be set up so I can send the funds.
Previously I raced an RC30 on the Isle of Man which is where I come from, and I also had a road/track RC45 (I think I sold the HRC race kit book to the site moderator/admin or owner? a couple of years back) I'm sure I sent it to Cornwall!
I chatted with Larry XLAX on the phone today and he put me on to this site, so thanks for that Larry.
Had problems with the registration, seemingly becase I copied and pasted the !Honda*RC45! directly from the site, and it wouldn't accept it. Several tries later and a manual input of the aforementioned sorted it!

Sorry about that Oggy... but blame the retarded spammers! It wouldn't be necessary if it weren't for them.
It's easy to copy a space at the end of the Reg Access Code when you copy & paste. I will remove the italics to see if it makes registration easier in the future.
Hi , I've been lurking around the site for a while now, much like I did on the Yahoo site,
I restored my RC30 about 2 years ago , it spent its first 3-4 years as a race bike , mostly at club level, here in Oz , from what I can tell. It was bought by a mate with the vision to restore, alas he didn't get around to to and he offered it to me as a project. Its my first V4, I don't get to ride it as much as I'd like, hopefully that will change
I rarely look at the Yahoo group anymore. That format makes searches very difficult, and following threads is a pain.
Anyway, I've owned my RC30 since 1994. I bought it from the Honda Australia superbike race team. It was last raced by Anthony Gobert and before that was Troy Corsers #2 bike in his title winning year.
During a maintenance refresh I found that some major work is needed before I can get it on track again. Primary among these issues is a damaged crankshaft. So if anyone knows where I can get an NLOB crank in good condition please let me know...
I tried using a stock crank but its cam drive gear has 5 teeth more than the kit crank.
I look forward to learning and sharing more RC30 info with the group
I have just signed on to the site so I thought I would say hello.
I bought an rc30 about 10 years ago,a 1988 model, rode it for the first year and during the winter did some maintenance .
There was no clearance on 4 of the valves so I had to whip to engine out and replace the valves and springs .
I added an rc45 to my collection 18 months ago.
Both bikes are standard, kept very clean and used regularly during the summer.
Keep up the good work on the site.
Been looking at the site for ages now but only just joined. In the process of building a RC30 and I'm on the look out for a swing arm !? complete would be great
Been living in Japan for the last seven years but still a Wigan lad at heart !
I have recently purchased 880487, a Japanese ballot bike, here in Auckland. The seller is doing a few minor repairs before I get it late January I would suspect. Since buying it I have been offered another one so it looks like I could own two!
While I grew up on Japanese bikes my last 15 years has been centered around restoring and riding 1960's and 70's British bikes, mostly BSA and Triumph Triples for which I have an incurable disease!
I have always lusted after an RC30 thinking they are one of the most beautiful bikes ever made backing up its beauty up with performance and history!
Into the collection 487 goes. How bloody exciting!
I've just taken delivery of an RC30 race bike. I've been told is has been in a museum / collection for ten years and would appreciate some advice on how to prepare it for use again, and especially anything in particular I should be looking for. Any pointers towards shop manuals etc. would also be gratefully received.
I collect MV Agustas, have owned a CB1100RD for over 30 years and raced a Laverda Jota in the B.E.A.R.S. series last year.
