Afternoon peoples

After much deliberation, I want to relive my late childhood memories of watching foggy on the rc30 by looking to buy one.
what are the pitfalls and where would be a good place to start

Andy

Hello Andy.
Welcome to the forum. Sorry we're a bit slow on here sometimes, I've been doing some gardening. Lol

Pitfalls.. none really, it's a hand build piece of Honda excellence and will go on forever. As with any purchase though good service history and routine Maintanance are key. For investment purposes originality/ condition are important, mileage can affect the price but don't be to worried about higher miles if the servicing has been kept up, it's better than a bike sat around in a garage. UK Models tend to hold their value better, I personally prefer the smaller lights of the Japan imports but that's just me. Buy the best one you can afford, ride it and love it.

Well I don't know anyone selling right now but for me I'd personally buy private. There's dealers out there who sell them regularly and some who don't, they just want them through the showroom for a quick profit. Best buying from someone who has had the bike for sometime, has looked after it and knows the machine. It's a waiting game unless you want to pay dealer prices and get one straight away. If you've waited this long it's worth waiting a bit longer to get a bike your happy with.

I looked for 4 years to find an RC30! I wasnt prepared to pay the dealer prices being asked! Sold my first one in year 2000 for 6K!!!
Finally got another last October ,british model RL for £14,000 in Rothmans colours.
I went to look at a few private ones but most were all ex race bikes tarted up!!
Cheapest Ive seen since since was £18,000.
A dealer offered me 20,000 cash for mine in January!
And Im also a new member based in Manchester UK.
