Changing clutch plates

Post by DocJohn »

Right.

I'm clearly doing something stupid here.

The clutch started slipping last time out; so I'm midway through changing the plates.

However - I've never worked inside a 45 before and I'm a bit stumped!!

How do you lock the slipper so you can undo the centre nut?

John...
You can break torque on the nut just the way you have the clutch pictured...
but first I would remove the rag and employ a scrape of aluminum or hard
plastic between the gears...

Are you installing new clutch plates???
