Shock Absorber Linkage Rebuild

Post by RC30subluxation »

I am rebuilding a shock absorber linkage. I have it all apart with all the bearings pulled or pressed out. The rod eye bushing for the shock absorber (in the knuckle) I am having trouble determining what the part number is.

Does anyone know what this part number is?

link bearings.

Rick,
I checked the spherical bearing invoice and it was £40 for 2.
I had not noticed the different number of needle rollers in the bearings, but have not yet replaced any in the s/a to link.

Would it be best to use those high load versions all round? or is there reason not to.

Dave.

The bearings with more rollers do not have a cage. They are called full complement bearings. Full complement bearings are not for high speed shafts like, say, a transmission needs but work well in oscillatory motion like a shock linkage where load bearing capability is more important than alignment of the rollers to the axis of the shaft. Full complement bearings usually cost a bit more because the additional rollers cost more than a steel cage they replace. Cost differences are marginal in such small bearings like these.
