VFR750R-RC30 Ignition Tuning

The VFR750R ignition is only restricted on the JDM (Japan Domestic Model) and Swiss models. Their CDIs are identified by an "A1" or "AH1" part suffix on the outer casing respectively.

Swapping a restricted CDI on these models is all that is required for the most part. However, HRC race kit (NL0 and NL0B) CDI’s are available, which also raise the standard 12,700rpm rev limiter. For most applications the OEM (unrestricted) CDI is fine, as even when tuned, the RC30 generally makes peak power around 12,200rpm. An adjustable CDI based on an Ignitech module is also available from Rick Oliver.

The HRC NL0 race kit specifies replacement coil packs and HT leads for TT-F1 spec, however their increased effectiveness over the standard items in the real world is questionable.

The CDI converters are the same across all models, so do not need changing. An NL0B converter to pair with the NL0B CDI was made available around 1991.
