Hello ,
As per my long running starting issues , I'm just wondering how other people start their bike from stone cold .
The dyno shop I've just used , did not use the choke at all , and it started OK , where as I used 100% choke and no throttle from stone cold . I do not know if this caused my plugs to get dirty or not.
How do you start your 45 from stone cold ?

Thanks
Mike

Mike... no worry about wet plugs because the choke doesn't control fuel...
rather it controls the starter valve which meters in more air and the whole Fi
system sees more air and compensates with just the right amount of fuel... the
only adjustment the choke really directly controls is idle... you want your RC45
to idle while warming up the oil (Honda recommends 150ยบ F before selecting
first gear) then use the choke knob...

RC45 idle circuit... stone cold starts first pull choke and hit start then regulate rpms...

Thanks again Larry , well that dismisses my full choke /too much fuel idea .
I went out again on it on yesterday and thought I try to start it with no choke . After a couple of stabs of the starter , it fired into life , and then I added about 1/4 of the choke to increase the revs for a short while. I think I'll stick to this technique from now on .
Mike .

You're welcome Mike... with no choke the engine doesn't drawn in sufficient idle
air to start at first try... with choke its designed to start first time every time...
